Shangri La Duplex Penthouse

Category: Private Residence

Location: Toronto,Ontario

Completion Date: 2017

Size: 5,000 square feet

Scope: Interior Design

Design Concept:

A duplex penthouse with generous terraces creating exterior rooms with spectacular views of the Toronto skyline. A minimalist aesthetic void of any ornamentation intended to serve as a subtle background to take contemporary works of art and collectible furnishing pieces. Interior contents are defined by a neutral palette of smoke, taupe and grey with all shots of colour expressed through artwork and accessories. Unique to the firm’s bespoke approach which blurs the distinction between interior design and art, the project’s most dominant work of art is a 180” h x 100” h metal wall art panel by the firm’s principal architect, Peter Cebulak. The project involved the curating of all related artwork and includes works by Annie Morris, Jason Martin, Robert Kelly, Max Lamb, Kwangho Lee, Michel Salerno, Adolph Gottlieb, James Nares, Laylah Ali, Jules Olitski, Josef Albers and Canadian artists Denis Juneau and Jean - Paul Jerome.
