House On The Lake

Category: Private Residence

Location: Oakville, Ontario

Completion Date: 2016

Size: 10, 000 square feet

Scope: Architecture, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture and Construction Management

Design Concept:

A new residential construction project built on an important 2 acre waterfront property just outside of Toronto proper. A residential project that considers the exterior, interior and landscape architecture in unison – a cohesive and thoughtful project with a distinctive character. The exterior architectural language is 1920’s inspired combining Indiana limestone, precision cut and hand bush hammered with historical stucco and metal fenestration. A pared down reserve is echoed by the landscape design which enhances rather than competes with the uniqueness of the natural setting.

Interiors reflect a loosely interpreted Regency aesthetic with an ongoing dialogue between light and dark punctuated with shades of mauve and rose. Interiors are art based, synthesizing divergent aesthetics in a thoroughly original way resulting in a unique hybrid language which respects yet reinterprets the past.
